Random Thoughts

So, it's been a little while since I have been here...here is the latest updates in no particular order of course!

It's been a crazy few days with the girls being sick, but thank God they are better without much medical need. Just a lot of sleeping and laying around! Needless to say it was rather quiet around the house for a few days except for the boys.

It is hard to believe that Ryan is already 2 months old. He is getting more of a personality! He is starting to get "fun" with his smiling, imitating, and cooing!

Here is poor Jack...the child I haven't done a tribute for yet, but here is a quick pic of him. This is the only time that you will see him still or quiet! He is quite the menice! But is sweet at the same time. Yes, that is a black left eye. You probably won't see him without some kind of bruise to the face. He inevitably hits his head on everything...could it be because he has such a large noggin? Here he fell in the shower!

Do you remember when you were in elementary school and received your first certificate or award for something? I don't remember what my first award was, I think attendance, but I came home and told my parents that I was getting a "chickenfit". Obviously I couldn't say certificate! Needless to say, my parents haven't let me live it down. Here is Raelee with her first awarded "chickenfit" and we are very proud of Raelee!

Here is a deer grazing at the Lake Eufaula State Park where Chris is employed. NO, you can't hunt these deer, at least not in the State Park. This is just some of the wildlife featured at the park. There are times that you could see turkey, wild pig, deer, longhorns, elk, and all kind of birds. Chris swears there is a mountain lion there too!

Here is what the dear Lord has blessed me with...my family! God blesses those who are faithful...I just pray that I remain true to God and raise my family in His ways! Chris and I are on a good start considering that the kids love church and our church family! Nothing blesses your heart more to hear your children pray a loud for you or others, sing praise songs from memory, beg to go to church, tell a bible story that they learned, or desire a part in the Christmas program so bad that they pray for it and audition (by the way the Lord answered Raelee's prayer and she got the part she wanted). God is good...all the time!!!

I know this is probably rambling, but this is the latest happening at the Green House! I pray God blesses you to the fullest as HE continues to do for me!

Sickly Fall Break

The girls started out with a good fall break until Saturday...
Thursday night they went to Aunt Ree's (Angie's) to spend the night with Audrey and they stayed up late there, then went to bed early Friday night when returned home (yeah for me).
Saturday morning, Raelee didn't look like she felt well, but was insistent that she was okay and wanted to go to cheerleading. The longer the day went the worse she got...by the time we were home, she was running a fever of 102 & very lethargic. What an awful mom I am for letting her go to cheerleading; 1. possibly infecting other children & 2. making her choose cheerleading or be sick. Raelee obviously really enjoys cheerleading because she was determined to go regardless how she felt. She later admitted after returning home, in tears, that she lied and did feel bad that morning but wanted to go to cheerleading because "I love it!" Can't punish her for her determination and commitment. Chris commended her for her determination, but also encouraged her that she didn't need to be in public when sick. By Saturday night, Christalynn had a persistent cough but was still active.
Sunday morning, Raelee continues with a fever and lying around. Then Christalynn wakes up not feeling well, begins to run fever & complaining of stomach ache by the end of the day. Therefore, no school for either. Praying that God would heal the girls quickly and protect the boys from the virus "bug". I found a scripture in Malachi 4:2 - "But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall." I thought that was very fitting...once you are healed you feel like kicking up your heels and running around.
Monday morning...Raelee "leaping like a calf". She is definitely trying to make up for lost time in energy and conversation. She acts like she is on speed, she's talking fast and just bouncing off the walls. (Thank you Lord!) Christalynn is still not feeling well, still fevered and complaining of stomach ache as well as headache. Raelee's "bug" was 48 hours...so praying Christalynn will be better by tomorrow. Will keep you posted on Christalynn!
I thought that we were done with this virus because it is very similar to the one they had last month, yet Raelee's didn't last as long as last month. Sometimes I feel like I should just put them in a bubble and never let them leave the house, then what kind of immune system would they have?? I just pray the Lord puts a hedge of protection around them and pray for health everyday over my children. It's not me in control, but God!
So far, the boys are in the clear, as well as Chris and I.
Until next time!

Number 2

So, I have talked about Raelee and Ryan, you maybe wondering about the "middle kids". Here is a note about numero 2...

Christalynn Denise was named after Chris and I as well as her two grandmothers;
Chris, Lynn is mine and my mother's middle name, Denise is Chris' mother middle name.
She was born March 4, 2005 (3/4/05).
Christalynn is our animal lover, will pick up snakes, crawdads, and bugs if she sees them.
Don't you dare run over anything!
She wants to be an "animal doctor" when she grows up.

Christalynn pretty much stays in her own world...she is a little odd in a good way!
She loves to wear ponytail holders as bracelets and bracelets as anklets.
Doesn't have to match her clothes, would throw anything on to go to town in.
I call her my eccentric child, she is so..."lat-tee-dah" about everything.
Christalynn loves ponies, collects My Little Pony's or any sort of horse figure.
She keeps begging for a real one, but Chris and I haven't got the gumption to build a fence yet.
Is that wrong???
Her favorite color is green.
She loves to doodle.

This is Christalynn, she is sporting her Easter dress that her grandma Lyle made her.
Christalynn's other favorite color is purple, like grandma Lyle and MawMaw Debbie.

Christalynn is my "baby girl" and growing up so fast.
She really isn't active in much, has no desire.
She is in swimming lessons, but looks at it as fun time in the pool.
She tries to keep up with Raelee, but they are different, and she loses interest at times.
Christalynn is sweet, loving, and crazy
(very entertained with bodily noises i.e. burping and farts).

God has blessed me with a unique little girl
and look forward to seeing what God has in store for her!

P.S. I need to learn to take my camera and get more pictures to tell more of a story.
New project and challenge!! Yeah!

Blinded Bends

Just a quick note to hopefully encourage or uplift any down spirits, either to my 4 followers or to anyone else who happens to come across this blog...

It's amazing how God uses experiences that we go through to help someone else. God is in total control of EVERYTHING, yet we take that for granted or think that we are actually in control. Yes, we do have free will to make choices, but He still knows the outcome.

He knew us before we were concieved (Psalms 139: 13-16). The miracle of creating a little being is a God given blessing. Yes, the pains of childbearing was a result of Adam and Eve's sin, but the bond while carrying and delivering a child totally outweighs the pain. And since a life is started at the time of conception...the loss of an early pregnancy is devastating!

I have experienced a miscarriage at 7 weeks between Christalynn and Jack. I was absolutely devastated, questioning myself, ashamed, and disappointed. I felt like a failure to myself as well as my husband. "Why was this happening? What did I do wrong?" But through this grief was the Lord, reminding me that regardless of what I do or don't do, He is in control. He takes care of me and my family, and that this happened for a reason unseen to me for my benefit. I will someday know the reason, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. God allows things to happen to fulfill His purpose for us as His children.

We must grieve, "pour out your complaint before Him", and seek His face for strength...Psalms 142. Through God's power we will overcome our trial and either learn from our experience or share our experience to help someone else in need.

Please pray for those who do not have the ability to have children as well as those who do experience a miscarriage (whether it be first child or third child). This is in honor of a cousin who is currently experience the pains of miscarriage.

7 weeks

It is hard to believe that Ryan is 7 weeks old!
I return to work in 4 weeks...yikes!!!
Here is some pictures of Ryan at 7 weeks...
he is now more alert and stays awake for longer periods.
He also sleeps for longer periods at night (thank you Lord!).
I think he could be a night owl if I would let him...
he tends to like to play before bedtime, coo, and grins.

"I'm Sleepy"
I know this maybe the wrong way to put a baby down,
but this is the way that Ryan sleeps well,
otherwise he fusses if laid on his back.
(All my kids were belly-sleepers.)

Momma's Boys: Jack is very sweet with Ryan!
I thought Jack would have jealousy issues,
but has surprised me with his kindness and love towards Ryan.
Jack likes to hold, kiss, and play with Ryan's ears.

These were the proud sisters on the day of Ryan's birth.
They had a new babydoll to play with!

Ryan Eugene Green
Born August 23rd, 2009
Weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz.
Measured 19 inches long
Ryan was our only baby that had a headfull of BLONDE hair!
It is so unexplainable the joy each child brings!
Its amazing at the miracle that God created with each child He blesses me with!
It is so sweet the overwhelming love each child gives and receives!
Thank you Lord for your joy, blessings, miracles, and love you bring to each of your children!

Raelee's Debut

Raelee's Debut

Raelee is so excited to be in cheerleading! She picks up on the cheers quickly and does the best cartwheel per her grandma Lyle (she couldn't possibly be bias!). You can judge for yourself and view this video, leave your comments and let Raelee know how well she did!

Growing up, my dream of a family was "country-fied"...farming with livestock, cowboy husband, "country-fied" children, very country living. I do live in the house set in the "country" with acreage and pond, no livestock; didn't marry a cowboy; and obviously my oldest isn't "country-fied". Actually Raelee is far from it!

Raelee is a social butterfly & loves fashion. Of course her favorite color is pink. She has to dress up to go to town, usually in a skirt and something pink. It took me a few weeks when she started school to get her out of skirts. Raelee is another momma to the other kids, thinks she is the boss a lot of the time, but she is a big help. Raelee is sweet, very energetic (likes to be on the go almost constantly unless she is asleep or very tired), and funny.

Raelee is the beginning of the chapter of supporting our kids' extracurricular activities. Isn't this where more fun begins??!! This is the time that we see (and hopefully teach) how Raelee reacts to opposition, disappointments, victories, and hardwork. Dear Lord, please give us the wisdom and patience to train up our beloved Raelee in your ways!!

So, do I want my dream to come true...thank you Lord for unanswered prayers and dreams!

Happy Birthday Papa and MOM!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

This was Papa's 76th birthday...too bad he didn't know it was his birthday! (He did know that his birthday is "10-4", just didn't know that we were celebrating his birthday here :)) Papa is progressing quickly in my eyes, in his diagnosis of Alzheimers and requires a lot of redirecting. We take every moment the Lord gives us when he does remember who we are and how we are his.

Here is Grandma and Papa...
Thank you Lord for the influence that this cute couple has had on my life!
This is the only picture that I had of my mom, yes what a shame for me to only have this picture of her, but at least its one.
Today, October 9th, is her birthday and I hope that she is having as much fun for her birthday as Jack was here. It's okay Mom, dive into some cake and enjoy your day!

It is crazy how time flies when we are all having fun! It seems like yesterday that I was a kid living with my mom and dad, spending weekends with my grandparents, no real responsibilities. Today, my kids are able to enjoy what my yesterdays were, I just pray that the Lord protects them as much as He protected me through my yesterdays as well as my todays!

The First Time

Well, what do you put in a blog?! If its not evident yet, this is my first time to do this sort of "thing". I got the idea from my aunt and cousin after reviewing their blogs. This is one way to keep other friends and family members updated on my family and happenings. Yet, how much do you tell and show? Is this too cheesy or something worth doing. Either way, it's worth a try! I do mean a try considering I'm currently on maternity leave, so after work resumes I may not have as much time to spend keeping up with blogging, but I will try!!!
So, a little more about me....I turned 30 years old this year in May and had my fourth and final bioloical child in August (I say "biological" because Chris and I have tossed the idea of adopting children later.). In January 2001, God made it evident to me that my head knowledge needed to reside in my heart and I was saved. At that time I was searching in wrong places to fill that void, and I told God that "You are it! When you are ready for me to have a mate, you bring him to me!"

And here he is...I am a happy wife to Chris Green for the last 8 years as of August. In February 2001, Chris visited church with his sister, and in a calm voice God said, "there he is". Chris and I graduated from the same high school one year apart, yet I don't remember Chris in high school, yet knew exactly who he was when he entered the church. Our first date was May 5th, engaged July 14th, and married August 23rd 2001. Chris is the man that God absolutely blessed me with!
I am a proud mother of four beautiful children; Raelee 5, Christalynn 4, Jack 18months, and Ryan 7 weeks; my four other dear blessings that God granted me. {Their picture is at the top of the page...I didn't want to have to retype everything, but I know now how to put in pictures then type around them.}
I work outside of the home at Solara Muskogee, Long Term Acute Care Hospital as a Nurse Manager. Again, God blessed me with a job that has great bosses and staff to work for. Chris works outside the home as well at Lake Eufaula State Park as a Park Ranger. Chris and I work opposite shifts of each other so that we care for our children.
I am active member at Timothy Baptist Church, this is the church where I was saved and where God brought Chris to me.
This is basically my life in a nutshell!! Hope you enjoyed the basics of the life in the Green Family!
